Nice job, D. I'll remember this.

I always wanted to have a poster that said:

Yeah, I read this article. Yeah, I'm trying to get the disseration. Yeah, among those Nordic Fiber/textile/clothing folks, it's already been stirred and shaken by the boat-load.

I'm leaving it alone and seeing if I can get ahold of it.

No one is forcing you to study European History and historically related subjects. Concerning language there are 2 distinct problems. First, medieval documents were rarely written in any modern language. In fact, some of the languages use, like Latin, were used incorrectly. Also, understand that the...

Well, since I can't find the previous thread where we were discussing this: m I started a new one. I got my bench in. I IS split into 3 pieces along the bench with about a 1/2" gap inbetween each slat. It does go together with no bolts or screws and IS colapsable. However, the way they set up ...

But unfortunately, I can't afford even that.

Dante,

Here's a fellow trying to pick-up the peices of somthing that failed and all you can do is mock him and his attempt? You may or may not have a legitimate complaint against the previous armoury, but I think you'd welcome the change.

Early 10th Century? Hmm...you probably don't want to look around anything to do with Kiev. I would look at the dig report around Stariya Lagoda or the graves found around Smolensk on the Dniepner. I think (if I remember correctly) that all you'll find is shield bosses a'la Sweden.

As a shield, I expect to be stepped-on and be at the bottom of the pile in every melee. What worries me when I can't get into a defensive position to protect myself.

What I see here is not a problem.

You get out of the SCA what you put into it, why should anyone GIVE you anything? This comment by Halvgrim brought up a question in my mind. Why should those of us on the outskirts of the SCA who are not invested in the SCA system invest in it. Why should we take time away from our personal pursuit...
