from outer large fan to inside small fan across top is 6.5"
cop is 5 3/4" deep
from wrist to end of cop is 16" total
wrist diam is 10"

The top rear strap makes sure if you fall back the whole boot falls back with you. The back steel part will not dig in then. When you drop to one knee and bend back at the waist it will dig in a bit yes. this is one thing that might be adjusted in teh making of them for SCA fighters. I do steel work...
