You do not have to get a dog collar gorget or a high collar spanish one either if you do not want teh discomfort. You can use a non collared spanish gorget. this way you can rivet a strap on the rearbrace and a buckle on the gorget hanging down a tad. The arm cannons will buckle just above the rearb...
