Hi guys,

A friend of mine purchased some in-stock items from them recently. They came pretty much on time and were solid.

Their gambesons were pretty thick, they are almost armour by themselves.

So can you give us less knowledgeable a quick rundown on how you go about making a set of spurs? are they just cut to shape from a peice of sheet and then having the stud welded on or are they beaten out of a bar?

I think (don't quote me though) that there was a coat of plates documented on a very late crusader. If I am correct Adam from White Mountain Armoury made a repro of it. I can't remember the name of the effigy though.

With regard to the rubber you used to be able to get something made from shredded old tires. I think it might have been developed for horse parks but its been a while since I saw anything on it. It might be something to look in to anyway.

And Thomas is a man that has only been in the SCA for about 2 years. He has an outstanding kit, its very sexy in person even if he does get more bruises from the armour than his opponents :twisted:

Tom doesn't have the helmet for that suit yet.

Lord Kitan had left one of his shields from when he had lived there. Thomas and Robert did a wonderful job of painting it for me I did at least use it in the torchlight pas and for doing pick up fights :oops:

I was using the kite on orders from our unit commander :lol:

Next time I go I will freight my armour over before hand. I would have loved to have had my nice kit there.

Yeah, never bake anything at 180 degree C, I had crispy spaulders :( , it was a palm to forehead moment when I realised that the temp in the thread I read was fahrenheit :oops:

So far we have

-You are allowed to call one good blow light during the tournament
-You may call one blow that your opponant thinks is light good on them
-Competition for the most humourus excuse for why a shot was legitimately not good.

Greetings your grace, it would appear that my second PM did not make it through or there was not enough stock?

Fair enough. I've always seen CoP kits made from bloth get ripped out constantly. Is that not the case? That being said, I guess you could sew pockets in and take the plastic in and out as necessary. My current COP is fabric and has been in use for a year with only one small hole in the outter laye...
