Looks good, If I may make a suggestion you might want to make the cut out at the top more rounded at the base so that it matches up with a stick a little better. You can also thin out the sides and extend the metacarple plate around so that it provides better thumb coverage. Keep up the good work

I think it'd be fine you'll probably just tip the helmet upside down to get the mail out of the way and then sort of flip it on your head and close the cheek plates down and then straighten up the aventail.

Once you rough up the leather turn shoes are fine, however just for added security I did glue rubber soles to my revival low boots.
