Hi Hal, I have been using the little lead/tin alloy block for rivetting for a while now. I've found it too soft of steel rivets but great for brass and copper. Its starting to get chewed up, what do you recomment doing when it is completely munched? I guess I could met it back down but I'm not sure ...

Very nice helm.

I'd take out the rivets on the faceplate and on the side of the cheek guard and make up a matching piece of blackened steel that sits in there. You could tap a thread on the rivets and put a bolt on the back so it could still be completely removable.

I like the look of the stuff you are getting made up Kit. Would this stuff be sufficient for SCA combat as well? if so I would say that there would be a couple of guys down in Tas that may get some stuff off you.

Well here is the addition of the new helm, turn shoes and a few other small things to the kit.

Still have the body, leg and arm defence to redo but should be finished soon.

Really nice stuff Matt. These look really schmick.

One mod you might like to think about is having some bars on the bargrill form a U shape so people can easily attach their maille to the face so that it gives the look around the face that the effigies have.

Warren called me today, he said that he should be sending my stuff tomorrow and will send me a tracking number.

He seemed genuine and I'm willing to take him at his word at this point. I'll keep you posted when the items turn up.
