bluing stainless

In another thread, someone mentioned bluing stainless.
can anyone point me to a commercial product that does this?

Or can stainless be heat blued with wd-40?

Any ideas?
the only thing I have ever seen that works is the powdercoat I hqave seen on some pieces...

Thanks in advance!

I like the design. I suspect that if you do not make the dome high enough, where you place the eye holes will cause them to ride 'high' and may cause fitting problems once you pad it. All I can say is be careful when you work with your armorer to get the brow right. As to the chin...looks good, and ...

Counterfit Duct tape! (a rant)

So... A few months ago, I was in Big Lots, saw a PILE of Duck brand duct tape...at 1.00/ roll. I bought 3, and thought I had found the mother load. I went back the next day...and it was all gone... So I made a couple dumb cardboard castle things for my sons...who demolished them...and basically blew...

Hi all, I had no intention of sounding confrontational about Derek's work. I agree, we had some minor issues with the finished product, and most likely, they were all perceptual on my part. Wanted: Beginner Stainless Bascinet-shopping inquiry

I have a local fighter who is ready to upgrade his kit... He needs a plain bargrill stainless bascinet, and does not have huge amounts of money. He was thinking of getting one from Illusion, but is extremely leery of their history. He cannot afford to throw away money on something that may not ever ...

Hi,
Anyone have a status on Illusion Armory?
I have a friend considering ordering basic stuff from them, but I remember they were having delivery issues etc.

Thanks for any info.

So the rounds they used were arm strapped, not center grip?

So from a re-enactors standpoint, about anything they had contact with they used?

Thanks Halvgrim,

I didn't want to get into any of the 'Lamillar period' haggling....I am just curious if throdemans book still passes the test of time, within its context.
Regardless of exactly who and when lamillar is approprite, the book is a fascinating read.

I have a question that seems to be relevant here...
In Thordemann's book on Wisby, is the chapter on Lamillar still considered valid archaeological information?

I know much changes over time, as do theories..so I was wondering if this part of the book is still a valid resource.
