Might I suggest that if you are going to sew in your liner, you think about sewing in a velcro strip instead? That way when that nice spongey quilt has soaked up a Pennsic worth of head juice you can simply pull it out to wash it instead of having to cut out the stitching and start over after the la...

A few weeks ago I went sledding in my garb and Revival low boots. My boots have the leather soles. I was able to walk up a very steep, packed-snow covered hill with much more ease than my companions who had Vibram soles on their shoes. The difference was how I was walking - I could feel the ground a...

A TOC is the place to go to get in front of the best trainers in the Kingdom. They usually break the field into three areas: 1 - Crown Rounds: Unbelts head into that section of the field to fight against knights who aren't holding anything back. They are there to kill you as quickly and efficiently ...

The following story is 100% true and NOT for the faint hearted. Several years ago we collected old weapons from around the kingdom for a special project. These were beat-up, out-dated, broomed out swords that we planned to cut down and refurbish for our needs. One of the swords had an old Q-tip styl...

Those are a pretty cool design. When I have tried on other gauntlets by Revival/Thornbird I always felt that the cuff didn't flare enough to give me full range of motion with my wrist. I don't know if this narrow cuff is more historic or not, but honestly, nothing about that gauntlet strikes me as h...

Curve of Globose
Hi All-
I'm looking for profile pictures of globose breast plates. I want to see where exactly the changes in radius of curvature are. Most of what I am finding in google searches, etc. are reproductions that look too "flat" to me.
Thanks!

At first view it reminded me of an illumination I cannot recall well enough to quote, that showed knights and men at arms fighting on foot over a bridge... I believe you are thinking of an illumination from the Grandes Chroniques de France. the manuscript post-dates the kit pictured by 30+ years, b...

A little thread-o-mancy here... Jiri was kind enough to email me the pictures that are missing from the top half of the tutorial, showing the welding lines and the pattern and asked that I re-post them to the thread.
