Roibeard, come up to Stonemarche we practice tourney skills on a fairly regular basis. Sir Artos and Master Gwen will step it up to full tilt if you ask them. Sir Artorius will as well. We have a Sunday practice starting in a few weeks. A couple of years ago we ran a mini tourney ciruit, one backyar...

Rod how do you guys not end up broken! or dead for that matter. Those are some spectacularly violent hits. I think I have found the upper end of my enthusiasm for feats of arms.

Perhaps I should checng my persona to anglo saxon, better two feet under me than four.

Wulfie is not so much obscure as he is a force of nature of which we speak little in these parts for fear of summoning it. :D

He could have a very good day and win the field. He is a joy to fight.

Well I know for fact and certain that Sir Artorius has been working on perfecting his Boom - yow technique, having fully absorbed the DA patented training system.

My money's on the Brus, I mean he just got knighted, and his lady is quite possibly one of the coolest people I met all summer.

If you like the cut of that cote, but want a real piece tailored to you and meant to be worn under armour you might try Magdalena von Regensburg of White Mountain Armoury. I have seen those used as shields and remember them from my younger years. In neither application do they hold up all that well. They were a rather soft alloy it seems. I'll see how far I get with making a helmet then get in touch with Sean. I have always fancied the hoplite look. Wishe Brand and Di...

Looking for an Aspis

At pennsic I saw some folks with what looked liked spun aluminum Aspis with the Lakedaemonian Lambda painted on them.

Does anyone know where those shields came from and who to contact to get one?

Jeff W. gets his shape from welding a cone and then raising the helmet or visor from there. I yields a very different line then the conventionaly dished bascinets we see on the field. You get to play in castles! And somehow you have convinced people that even if it is technically a lantern a coleman electric bug lure is not to be used at table. Amazing - did you have to use a very large stick?

Well Master Knut's work actually. But I earned the money that paid for it fair and square. Attached coif, long sleeves and a ventail by me not really visible under the helm. (I have learned that welding mail is a very finicky process)
