It is future tense, Pippin, you havent missed it yet. I am sure that several accounts will be written, both in plain old english and the high speach as well. And perhaps several other languages if our european cousins are present. This deed of arms will happen next Sunday. Although many of us who wi...

Brother Amos, they are open to anyone who can meet the restrictions on the the tourney. ie Plate and Mail - you have to be wearing armour not plastic sports stuff even nicely hidden. I didnt fight in that several years back because my harness while looking like a germanic 14th cent. rig was all plas...

For all those not so blessed as to be sitting on cushioned benches, the time and place translates as 5 pm Sunday 13th August, being the day of Opening Ceremonies, before the Midrealm Pavilion. Just look for Master Magnus' banner, it has a big red... oh never mind, see everyone there.

I think Sir gaston has a great helm that he wears in that manner, over a bascinet. He was wearing that rig in the CoT I fought in two years ago.

What is the application? SCA? Steel? Jousting? Mine is padded with encolite internally, loosely enough that my mail coif can fit inside with a light linen coif underneath. I think I may change that and wear a slightly heavier slightly larger padded coif as I have been chewed on by the mail on severa...

This contest is to take place following the "Warriors of History" tourney which Master Magnus has agreed to judge kits for. Said tourney is scheduled for 3 pm on the 13th of August. Steeling from Adam's previous post. This is my interpretation of a 1250 or slightly earlier harness. Ideally I would like to do what Sir Corby is doing stepping through time today -800 years. But I would have to look pretty cross eyed at myself to miss the poleyns and gutter greaves. m The legs are ...

HE Cotehardie for sale: SOLD

I purchased this from Miscreant last week. And as good as his word the cote is beautiful and in perfect as new shape. Unfortunately the sleeves are a touch short of me (owing to my some what unnatural reach, you see I hang from the floor joists every night to increase my reach, just ask the local fi...

No Piccies. I find my cross hilts to be lots of fun. They just feel more right. I have alumium mandrake fittings mostly, which gives the sword a much more blade heavy balance which I prefer on the whole. I have found that steel gauntlets put too much weight in the hand for me and make fine control o...

You know, this sounded gross until I remembered my fingertip glove-amputation in '82. Part of my brain was looking at the blood splattered on the front of my shiny metal plate breastplate thinking "Wow, that's so cool..." The other part of my brain was busy trying to pass out. Bri. Which part won?

I'll second the endorsement of Sir Gareths work. I bought an arming coat from him off the peg at Pennsic 4 years ago. It is still holding up very well and I have been very happy with the fit and function. Besides which he is a hell of a nice guy to deal with.

Hi Audax, The legs are tubes of leather with a cut out behind the knee to allow some movement. They have a piece of abs heat molded and riveted inside to protect the thigh. The Knee cop is riveted outside and the decorative bits are cut with a belt tip form and hide the difference between the bottom...

Here is mine and the kit with it, mostly finished. The legs are old and will be going in my loaner kit. The face plate sits pretty much on my nose, but I built it to be a pretty close fit intentionally. So it can be done, and built that way the visibility is excellent. A good four point chinstrap is...

The visor and helm on Sir Angus are made by Adam, the sights are double wide with a bar across the middle. Ahistorical as far as I know.
