That picture was taken after our regular practice. I was using a baldar basket hilt, but that seemed to lack a certain... realism for the photo. I think I will probably continue to use a basket hilt as I am having trouble coming up with something that looks right and feels safe. When funds are regen...

Painting the grillwork flat black makes it really low-profile, visually. Have you thought about wearing a regular mail coif underneath the grillwork, and treating said grillwork as though it didn't exist? You'd see the mail clear as day, and not the grill. That might look cool as shit, to my thinki...

Right file that under "do not play with Sir Oskgar while wearing" :D

I am thinking I will stick with my basket hilt and use the thong looped over the hand and lacing through half of the sleeve idea. It will create a muffler look, and convey the idea.

Also prices range from reasonably affordable to prohibitive. I would like to see some in person. Anyone in the East fighting with these? Failing ...

Its laser cut (or water cut dont know which) in a large diamond pattern. Pretty cool really. I met Alvar at Pennsic a couple of years ago and got to try on that helmet. It was very nice - unfortunately lighting bolts faling from the sky around the battlefield kept me from having the time to examine ...

I asked Erik if he would take a commision on that helmet a while back (the one worn by Alvar on zweihammers site) and he said that he couldnt as he was too busy already and didnt want to promise what he couldnt realistically deliver. Perhaps his situation has changed. He did however give me a lot of...

I'll have to watch again to get the names right. The Baron D'Ibelin (Liam Neeson) looked perfect except for the sword. Tripoli (Jeremy Irons) looks pretty good as does the Hospitaller (David Thewlis) Although the hinged nasal is a hollywood-ism. Throwing your shield away so you can swing two handed ...

You cut based on the measurement points Rev provided, pin or baste it on your leg (this requires an assistant) and adjust until you can just get it on and off without blowing out the seams. Sew, iron, finish and turn. Voila! Chausses.

Now how do you pronounce that?
