i have shipped a lot of them. use a rectangular box, wrap the sword good with newspaper, bubblewrap, etc make sure it can't slide everywhere. Make sure to tape the box closed well. All carriers UPS USPS Fed ex can do it. you can even get an estimate online. You CAN ship boxes longer than 40" th...

Honestly, I think part of the reason that we hit in the leg, but not the arm, is that it doesn't lead to any great inconvenience. Hit in the leg?
