Its like a grand experiment. If this is a bad idea we will know soon. I'll be using one at gulf wars and seeing how my opponents react. If they are not having fun, I am not having fun. I am biased towards this change, because of the tactical and appearance improvement I believe will come from it, bu...

As a data point, I gave been thrust with swords that have lost their tip many times. On bare flesh it makes me say, "Oww".

The extra width has no effect on force of face thrusts or shots to ant rigid structure, no matter how hard. The depth of padding on the spear does. So on armour, this change is no change. What about non-rigid armor like 90% of people wear on their body? Very few people wear rigid body armor, most o...

Jonathan, I think you do not have a clear understaning of the physics of thrusts to rigidly armoured areas.

So on armour, this change is no change.

Some cops askd if we would hit their riot shields with rattan when we were at MSR practice in the 90's. If you hit the shields across the holes where the handles attach they would crack.

aye, with a 10cm CoG and a minimum weight like that, I guess they're pretty clearly favouring the "hack with no discipline" school of fighting over any actual martial practice... which is why I'm now sitting here with 3d software, calculating exactly what it's going to take to produce a b...
