Medals

I want to reward my people for shit they do. The viking types are easy, I can be a ring giver. but for other, later period folks, what is appropriate. When do medals come into the picture?

The attached is a concept for a medal I would give girls for being hot.

Around 1990. Illegal in the SCA even then. That was a judicial duel with matched weapons, best out of 31. My adversary to remain nameless to protect his identity.

... the Society EM has made it so that if you grip your blade and your hand is struck, you lose the use of that hand. (Note, this is the only occurence where your hand is now a legal target.) What??
