You are right. I did some work to make the wallace details, which are for a different form, fit the helm I like. Now all I have to do is get the helm made.

Peder,
I have not, but I am very interested. Attached is a treatment using the wallace helmet as a guide.
I am not sure what I think of it.

Painted landsnecht helmet

The attached are a subtle (for me) and maybe a little less subtle paint design for a landsnecht helm.

Remember these will also have about a cubic yard of black and red feathers on the back.

The original helmet from the GNM in Nurnburg is included as an attachment.

There is some cat in Ansteora with one leg. Underestimate him and he will hand you your head.

I f you can make it on the field I will happily hit you with a stick.

And Xenon often wiorks in a team with some guy running his chair. The Xenon other guy and chair unit will knock you on your ass.

Victory is without meaning to me in this game. Don't get me wrong, I don't wanna go out and look like this is my first time, but I really truly don't care if I get beat. In this game I often pick fights I know I cant win. Thats sort of the point. And I drag all my friends into these fights sometimes...

Japanese. I'd buy some laquered looking ones. Tachi mounting style is appropriate for armoured combat. Early periods are covered in tiger skin.

As to minimal armour, that just the way it was. And no, that suit is dust before you were born.

I can fight for pay (or for free) against the local geographic sovereign and not be killed for it.

I can entice, recruit or otherwise rewards others to do the same and still not be killed for it.

I remember the midrealm army marching across us in the field battle in pennsic 7. I think it was fought where the bog is now. We (the East) were utterly outclassed.

Back then we just formed lines across the field. The East used to stand and the middle used to charge. Very fancy stuff.

I am making this almain. Do these nice clang gauntlets go with it?
I have to have hand protection for combat. But if the gaunts won't do I could make stealth gaunts that look like leather gloves.

I dont think we need padding on the tips of single hand weapons at all. I am allowed to smash you in the face with a 6 pound great axe pretty much as hard as I can, but I will hurt you with a poke in the face? I do not believe that you can generate excessive force with a single handed legaly constru...

I am led to believe that your gauntleted hand is included in that equation. While in my hand there is not a protrusion that will allow penetration of more than .5 inch.

Pimp my Katzbalger (and rondel)

I made some weapons for a Landsknecht officer impression I am working on. I posted progress pics previously which were eaten by the gods. Although I rarely name weapons as they don't last long I did name these and painted the names in the fullers of the weapons. The Katzbalger is named "whore&q...
