umm those 2 helms arent the same thing. the eye slots in the picture goto the end of the temple area and then that lil end of cross or whatever it is. the sculpture only goes to the ends of the eyes. and there are no bulging areas at teh temples in the sculpture. also the shape is not correct of the...

the strap on teh armet holds the wrapper. this would have not been worn in hand to hand combat, only the joust. so the cut strap thing doesnt apply there.

there were no gorgets when the standard was worn, well that we really know of. there may have been something... but thats another can of worms. a standard could have been worn on its own as neck protection or maybe under the bevor
