I'd rather have clear and understandable rules, than rules like these. These rules are rediculous. I'll just stick to single hand swords, and my greatsword. And wait patiently until the rules for the rest of the weapons are finally fleshed out... probably 3 or 4 SEMs from now. Like, 2024 or so.

Not me man. The only thing the crowd does for me is distract me, so I try to consider them non-existant. I go out and give the best fight I humanly can, without regard for the crowd. If they don't like watching it, they usually don't have to wait very long. Edit: to Dante... Don't you enjoy it when ...

Do you wear nice armor and a pretty tabard because you don't want people to watch you? I wear it because its part of what we do. Its about the only consolation I make to the gathered crowd (asside from paying honors to the Crown, and a Lady if I am fighting for one). I'm not saying you have to fall...

And, I think falling looks like you've lost your mind. Why? Is it a different fight? What is more fun about an opponent who isn't focusing 100% on giving you the best fight they possibly can? You have missed my point. I said that people should die in an entertaining manner, not that they should negl...

So you are pretending to be doing, what we are actually doing, when we pretend to do what we do. Awesome. Ok, then here's how it works. Real simple like. The stick is round. The line of tape running down an arbitrary portion of the round stick is the "edge". We call it, the "edge". The tape... is the edge. It is the part in our play game of sword fighting, that counts, if it hits you...

You really can't wrap your head around the concept? It really gives you trouble? I could never get my mind around placing an obvious edge upon an item that is quite cylindrical in shape. The edge of any sword that I have used, either ground down to a sharp edge of kept thick for safety, are no where...

No shit? More a commentary on the system than anything else. Broadway - Leo is a Knight. Yeah, the biggest issue I have with some marshals is consistency. I've seen marshals do inspections differently each time they do it. Midrealm has greatly simplified our rules (most to SCA standard) so that shou...

My last helm was 14g stainless bascinet. Wore it the first 3 years I fought, and by the time I exchanged it for a 12g stainless bascinet, the crest of the 14g looked like ripples on a lake.
