Johno, you can't pe a proponent of tradition in one argument, and then a proponent of growth in another. Its rediculous. I think the early rule makers and historical enthusiasts of the SCA studied quite a bit more than people give them credit for . The fact that they were very lenient on armor, garb...

No, what I'm saying is, if you can't get on the field, and participate in heavy fighting, the rough and tumble aspect, of the hitting each other with sticks, -for whatever reason- then, yes, you need to get the fuck off the field.

Yeah, I guess go ahead with the pie and the wrestlers...

Since any CA thread is doomed to get locked anyways because the moderator of the combat forum is pro-archery, and can't keep his person opinions from affecting how he moderates the board.

Reopened the thread, because some douchebag editor let his personal opinions sway his otherwise supposedly NON-BIASED moderation of the previous thread, and he locked it.

No, not at all. Its been done to me in a melee... I was so flabergasted that I took it as a kill and walked off the field to get some water and reflect on why I hadn't thought about doing that before... I just assumed no grappling meant that you couldn't jump into your oppenent, and try to knock him...
