With those kind of dimensions, it's probably middle eastern, if I had to throw a guess out. I don't particularly study the blades outside of the Aegean, so I don't doubt that some weird stuff came up. But if you say it had a sharpened edge, then, that's just dandy. I doubt I'd want to be hit by some...

The only "crowbar" in the bunch was an ancient bronze sword, which was about an inch thick and about two inches wide. Being a bronze age enthusiast and knowing a thing or two about the evolution of bronze age and classical swords (from start to finish, although only in detail in certain aspects) I'...

Hey Theoderic,

You'll have to get to Dan about that, as we've worked out a trade for another commission I'm getting from him, so it'll all be back with him soon.

Cheers!

Hey Dan, Thank you very much for the offer! If it doesn't sell within a couple of weeks, I'll hold you to the offer. Also, out of curiousity, is there any way that if I sent them back, YOU could keep whatever you ask for them, and that they may be a partial trade for the commission I asked you about...

Hey Mike, Thanks for the plug. That seller is Andrew Walpole, who does some non-professional archealogical studies, primarily of weapons and armor. Mac, Those items are made by Deepeeka. By-the-sword is merely a vendor for them, and they sell what they get. If you want to get further information about those pieces, inquire about Deepeeka's maille. For a future reference, "AH" before a product item is Deepeeka. Using the item numbers from other ...

I've personally had several good transactions with By The Sword for Deepeeka swords in the past, although I don't know if they might screw up other things. Hey folks, I've thought long and hard, and have come to the realization that the SCA won't be the thing for me in the coming years. Next year I'll be a senior, and will have two tough semesters. Remember, when you do the embossing, it will curl up like a potato chip and all the careful fitting you've done to match it up to the backplate will be wasted. Thanks for the replies, folks! Jason, this is going to be a Bronze Age example, before the regular bell cuirass design came into use, and much before muscled cuirasses were ever seen. My first metal armor project!

Well folks, I've decided to try my hand at makin' some metal armor. It's for my Bronze Age Mycenaean outfit, to be exact.
