There are a couple of under-cover armorers here in the valley, it seems... One sets up at most of the local Reniassance faires, and seems to do some good work. He's based out of Tulare, as Justin said. I still can't remember his name. Lol, Justin... Remember when we signed up for his forging class? ...

How much would it be shipped to California? My friend Justin needs one, so I'd be gettin' a hold of it for him. He's a member here, and might even bump in here once he sees this!

Also, what payment method would you want?

I'm ordering a custom one from someone who replied privately. But, for $20, I'd definitely be interested in an extra! What all needs mending on it, and how thick is it?

Justin, I'd suggest lacing the whole thing. I can get a hold of some nice, sturdy string for you next time we run up to Fresno. Actually, I said you should come along, so, we should do that... The rivets look very odd, from any historic pattern. Also, you should in fact place the plates on the INSID...

WTB: White, linen gambeson for 40" chest size

Hey folks, I'm in the market for a WHITE gambeson to go with my SCA gear. I'd like it to be at least 8 layers of linen or so, enough to serve as some good padding! If someone would like to make it, that'd be fine... It can be hand-sewn or machine-sewn. I'd like one with vertical stitching down the b...

That was my general idea, Alaric. I am not tryin' to throw this guy's business out of the window, or say that he should stop armoring. His work appeals to enough people to keep him doing what he's doing, and that's fine. But, it is my strong opinion that Albion swords, because of their reputation, s...

Well, a "petition" was the wrong way to put it. I suppose I was tryin' to say that an orgnized support for Albion to look for a better armorer to support their quality business would be a more appropriate way to put it. I don't mean this to put down Mercenary's Tailor for what they are. Their armor ...

Okay, considering my advanced knowledge of the mass-production armor and weapon industry (lol) I'll butt in. This is the same Mercenary Tailor who provides munition-grade armor to Albion and who has been for years. Here's the link to their products on Albion's site... m The look is obviously rough (...

That armor is very impressive! I don't think the suit would take so much time the second time around, considering their "450 hours" probably includes molding all of the original casts, etc... The helmet would be hundreds of US dollars on it's own, so it must be considered in the Buy-it-Now price! Ve...

I'm going to be wearing a haubergeon, rather than the long-sleeved hauberk shown on the effigy. So, elbow-besagews would have to be attached to my couters, if I wished to have them. But I co...

Anyone want Star Wars toys?

Hey guys, I used to collect Star Wars action figures as a kid. I have about 150 loose figures, many missing accessories. They date back to '77, and go to Episode I. About half are from the original trilogy releases, and the other half from the mid-90's. I have lots of vehicles, also in varying condi...

I recently found a girl I'm interested in who attends school with me, and she even likes weapons, armor and anime TV/film! IF I were to show her this, I'm 100% positive she'd do one of two things:

A) Laugh.
B) Call me a pervert.
