Not a problem, Padrig. We all have our own styles that we like. Most people aren't interested in the Bronze Age at all, and know nothing about it except what they saw in the film TROY that was actually historical (which was very little). So I simply pity that you have not yet discovered the truest b...

Not armor, but fabric-paint works!
Hello there, folks. I've spent the last couple of evenings working on the front side of my Mycenaean tunic with fabric paint. I've decided to use a blue, as opposed to the popular reconstruction-color of black. Matthew Amt already took that one;) After this is completely dried once the "24 hour peri...

Now, at my request, I'd like for no further posts to be made in this. I regret making this thread in the first place, but I was a little over the top last night so I didn't think to not spam the boards before i posted. So let's just let this one die, folks. Sorry for the mess. I can imagine that TH...

There are not two kinds of "facts" Mike. Those that are proven are, and those that are speculative that we aren't sure about are not. We cannot literally prove or disprove the speculative since we cannot be omnicient. But, as far as solid evidence goes, those that are speculative are NOT "facts" suc...

Well if you're willing to mean it, then I will. But, you must remember we ended with a "handshake" during our last entanglement. I'd rather not get into another one. So, just REMEMBER that I do not have a problem with you (or, I didn't before last night, when I decided to make this thread) and that ...

Maybe too stong a word? I actually stopped writing and had to think of what to say. What I was tryin' to get at was that I think he was in the wrong, and I was tryin' to keep composed before he blew me over... I suppose "spite" is a little worse than that! My bad. -Gregory- p.s. Sven, very neat litt...

Thanks Matt, Irish and Archie! Irish, the black is actually purple, and it's a layer of felt for a liner. For your benefit, since the update STILL isn't on the site, here's the description: [quote]Mycenaean Helmet- This is my first attempt at making a Mycenaean helmet. Although there are no detailed...

MeadDrinker, You've taken this far enough. YOU are the one not letting it go. Honestly, I started this thread in spite of you. Now, since you've decided not to back off once again, here's our PM's to show the world who's really bein' screwy. If you try to get along with everyone, then you should hav...

To expand on that... That's the official United Cutlery Sauron's Gauntlet. It comes with a pretty little display case and all of that good stuff. I'm still debating getting one to go with my helm of his. Neat piece! Having one of those, and then getting someone to make a duplicate for the other hand...

Yeah Hal, I made the stand. It's just using a basic 1-3/8th in. dowel like those I use for my big spear or pole-arms and it's screwed/glued to the piece of wood as the base. The helmet is dated to about 1200 BC, based on the two artistic representations I combined to design it, that is. It is from t...

My completed Mycenaean Helmet
Hey folks! I've had my incomplete helmet on my Mycenaean page for some time... Well, I finished it up! All it needed was some final staining, a chin-strap and the horns! The new description and three images will be up to replace the old stuff on the site later this evening (Pacific time). The main i...

French Galley model kit for sale
Hey folks,
I have had this on Ebay for a couple of nights.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1
The description tells all. IF by chance there are pieces missing, I'm afraid I can't be held responsible because I never touched the kit. I'm confident that it's all there after looking it over, though.

Meaddrinker, I wasn't talking to YOU up there. I was replying to a question asked in a PUBLIC forum which had no one's name in particular to which it was asked... help them when they overreact and tell them to get bent the rest of the way:) :p The reason I do give a damn is simply because I've told myself I don't want to have to argue with people or be a discomfort to people, both online and offline... Am I problematic?
Hey folks, I'm posting this thread HERE because this is where I post, and where most people who read my posts hang out. MeadDrinker has called to my attention that I have "offended" people in the past, and I'd like to know if this is something I should have to worry about... I honestly don't know wh...

Mr. Meaddrinker, I responded to your PM. Once again, I'm sorry for seemingly tryin' to be a smart-ass. If you don't like me, then I'm sorry that I made that so. I NEVER said that "I don't like you" so please don't try to assume so. I do not know you as a person, and I don't make enemies. If you want...

If its to bash the helm and the maker..theres no way Im going to look for it for you... I must say that as much as Josh is an authenticity-freak, he's not the type of person to be low enough to dig up a specific fantasy piece which he's taken the time to remember quite well, merely to bash it. That...

It's possible. Anything is, really... Aliens could have helped build the pyramids! The point is that if there is no proof, then it's not a fact, so, I don't think we should even consider worrying about horned helmets (in the sense most people think of them) with any historic accuracy from the Dark A...

In Samuel's defense, I'd have to say that he was merely making a comment based upon the great amount of money needed for such a thing, which would be beyond what most would spend, I'd assume... Nothing seriously meant to say that Toby isn't paying for his armor! I got to join the chat with Toby on t...

Hollllly... Holy crap! That's totally, extremely, superbly, astonishingly well-crafted stuff, dudes (and ocassional dudettes) WOWZERS! If I could get that armor, I'd drop every other era that I like more than the 15th century (which is, well, a lot of them) and stick with it for the rest of my life,...

WAY more awesome than my first shoe (and only one, so far). Then again, I didn't use a pattern, and it was my first time using a sewing awl... Lol! I really like that design, actually. It reminds me of a "old time" shoe that you'd see on characters in video games when the designers really don't know...

I personally love the suit... The helm is awesome, and the vambraces and half-gauntlets are really, really cool! The tooling is insane, and the recurring theme choices are very outstanding, if you ask me. I'm saving these pictures on my PC, because this is really, really cool! If this were a waste o...

Don't worry Todd, it's about as perfect a fit as perfect can be! I agree, Amalric! I chose this helmet style in particular to deal with (and I'm glad Dave really liked the project because of it's uniqueness, as well!) because it stood out for me. I love a good contrast with what most consider the "n...
