Hello folks, I'm going to have to back off of the offer to trade this thing for riveted mail, at the moment... I also won't be splitting up the set for individual pieces to be sold. It will stay together, I hope. The arrows were made specifically for the bow, as was the rest of the stuff. I'm still ...

ML, I'm 16 years old, and am a sophomore in high school. I'm currently working on a 14th century SCA kit. I plan on spending $2,500 to complete the outfit. I only work during summers, and get a couple hundred dollars per year on the side from holidays. Now, I don't know what kind of income you have....

I'm personally just joining the SCA. I'm working on a 14th century kit that will cost me approximately $2,500, but it won't be done for four or more months. Can I start a second suit now, and be considered a "new" fighter, since I haven't participated yet, and do all of the work on my own with the k...

Hey Russ, I looked at the picture you provided. As much as I'd like to say the offer is appealing, as much as it is tempting, I think I'm gonna' have to hold off. I think getting my order from Matuls is priority, at the moment, so the money is necessary. I think for riveted mail, I may have to save ...

Yeah, I'd be interested in seeing the mail, for sure. Also, what other types of 14th century items do you have that you said you'd be willing to trade? Also, I was thinking about the idea of separating up the items, and am rather wary of doing so... I'd like to sell the whole thing as a set. -Gregory-

Russ, thanks for the good words. If you have access, then please send me a picture of your riveted shirt. If it's the MRL style, I may be interested, depending on the condition. I'd really like one that's flattened steel, as well. The reason I'm selling this, in particular, was to get the money for ...

*Bump* Sorry Thomas, no shields needed! I'm still tryin' to get a couple outta' my house, actually. It'll leave me at one unfinished shield, and that'll be it until I get my kite shield made, and then my SCA shield when the time approachs to use it. Still want $450, but gimme' an offer, if you want,...

Grozer Turkish "base" bow w/accessories For Sale!
Hello everyone, Because I don't use it much, since archery isn't my thing, like I thought it would be, I've decided to sell my Csaba Grozer made Turkish Base bow. The Base series utilizes fiberglass in order to ensure a solid but affordable construction for Grozer's bows. The sale includes the bow, ...

ML, Lewis Moore has great prices, too, but he's currently got a full-time job and has laid back off of armoring, according to the last time I talked to him a couple of months ago. So, you'd have to contact him to see if it would be possible to place such a big order, or if his small queue is already...

ML, That Italian stuff certainly looks nice, but I don't think that $650 will get you very far in putting together such an outfit, unless if you made it yourself. You can join a growing group and get a fancy set of Uilleag's 14th century cuir bouilli armor. Looking over the expenses for my 14th century SCA kit, without including the coat-of-plates, great helm, or weapons, which I'm making, I'll be spending about... $1,400. You have an outstanding plan for your kit, very well thought out, but... may I ask why you are going to use basket hilts for your swords? Mandrake makes very good sword furniture in several mediums that would, IMHO, treat your assemblage with the more authentic look you have so diligently planed fo...

I like the idea, but I agree that it is very broad. For helping out SCA fighters, why not a try a more visual approach? Lots of fighters seem to rely on other fighters, or flashy Osprey plates, to decide on what they like to wear. So, why not make a compilation of photographs of lots of damn good SC...

That's not true, Hew. Science Fiction Magazines were at their finest in the late 20's and 30's. Take Amazing Stories, for example, and Buck Rogers (who appeared in '28, I believe). My brother is an early Sci-Fi fan just about as much as I'm into armor, and he's told me enough to know that a rocket l...
