Firstly Wil, I'd like to say that the humor in here is simply foul, and unnecessary. As I said before, badmouthing a man who we have no idea of the whereabouts of, besides the fact that he is still taking commissions sometime, is pathetic. He's added helmets to his site as recently as 4 months ago. ...

I can't believe I didn't think of that! He will love it. He has about a hundred pictures of Bilbo's entry foyer and parlor that he plans to re-create behind the door. Details are of the utmost importance to him. Oh, dang... I could have had credit for givin' you that idea, but for some reason I did...

I have called the state police where he supposedly lives to get a background check on him the other day and they have no report of him ever living their or it is just that he has no record of any kind in the State. Then, how would he ever get the money for any of his orders? Obviously, if he's ripp...

Thracian perhaps, I think they're outside the SCA period though Yeah, those can be called Murmillo, or Thracian. They're outside of the usual "Period", but there're enough Romans around to make it semi-safe to be a gladiator... My outfit, which is still a secret, will be one of the most "off-period...

Looks promising Kilkenny! I have a rather general question about the piece at hand... Why are they called rerebraces? I've noticed that Uilleag calls his a "rebrace", but I've heard the same piece called a rerebrace and a rebrace several times... So, what is it? And why is it that instead of the oth...

Wow, Wojmir! We just seemed to have discovered your site around here the other day! I've been going through it like crazy~! Alcyoneus, That's an incredibly interesting Chalicidian helmet that you have shown there! I've never seen that one before! Sadly, it probably dates to about 400 BC, and is AT LEAST 700 years too late for the Trojan War era. Also, the description you showed has a date similar to my guestimation... Th...

Adam, I doubt that leather scales could be sewn in a sewing machine. You would have to do it by hand. Think of it as sewing heavy leather rather than sewing cloth. You would probably need an awl and sinew or heavy-duty thread. Not really true. Leather sewing machines, although expensive ($1,500 or ...

Karl, I'd like to start off by saying I love you! I've seen the rather odd one in the second image, but I've been unable to get a hold of the original thing in a picture, thank you! Renjunkie, as far as we know, just like later Greeks, the Mycenaeans and their neighbors, as for most Bronze Age fight...

Erik, although hopefully my next big purchase will be for some top-secret SCA gear from Uilleag, I'm hoping I'll be able to get one of your helmets in the near future! I would really, really, really love a very similar version of your Wenceslaus helmet, if the price stays about the same in the comin...

That is a handsome lookin' kit he's got together there! The menpo adds to it all tremendously! Lucien, might I suggest contacting a custom armourer, instead of waiting for one to come to you? There are probably plenty of armourers who do gauntlets that would be willing to take on a project like that...

There is no historic evidence for such things being done, so I'm not sure about that. Making leather things are always fun, but, well, there's so little surviving evidence for it being used as armor, especially in Europe during the Middle Ages, that it's hardly worth your time, if you're looking for...

Yeah, I've never even seen a human who played in the SCA with a 27" head... Maybe that's including padding, etc... I saw a picture of this helmet before, when I was inquiring about the style for a purchase of my own. I wasn't interested in an SCA helmet though, so I let it slide. It's very pretty, t...

Hey guys, how about this... m It's his homepage in English. Other than that, all that he has up is the Lamellar in English, which is linked at the top! Definitely the most interesting page, anyway, so, there you all go! Also, when you look at the English version, I'll note that he says it's polish, ...

A 14th century Rerebrace, and some Ancient (read as mycian i think) leather scale armour. There is no evidence that leather lamallar ever existed. There's more leather scale than that. There hasn't been any Mycenaean leather armor found, ever. That's wrong. There was a oil-cured leather scale cuira...

The site met its bandwidth for the evening, I believe, as I was strolling through it... I got to most of the pages. There must be 15 different headings. I had to guess which ones I was looking at, and remember what they were once I saw them. There were drinking pouches, gauntlets, belt fittings, the...
