beware .... da .... flame .. of audax. Might try trolling the chivalry forum instead of choking my threads with your bitter commands and insults. JillandI, Audax was not flaming you.. She was warning/advising you regarding the helms flaw in the visor fixtures. Those bolts are illegal as a fastening...

However... Kingdom conventions may differ. Here in the East, convention of combat 13 states that the inner thigh is a kill when struck with an axe... but not a polearm. That's what I was going from.. Back in my early days, Aethelmearc was part of the East and where I got this. So I'm not totally cr...

Lax Rules of the list..
Watch this video, bout 7 seconds into this Duke Palymar lands a blow to the inside of his opponents leg. Now according to my understanding such a blow from a mass weapon is a killing blow not a leg shot.. But the guy drops to his knees and keeps fighting.. WTF?

Tape but do not cut rope. Then do another wrap across your striking surface but not quite as tightly...

ah, but 13/14th century irish really *did* armor up like a lot of other northern europeans - or they were the kind of conscripted soldier that didn't wear much in the way of armor at all, which isn't exactly useful for SCA combat. My understanding is that the well to do Irish were about 10 to 20 ye...

Alot of the Tuchux and a member of my household went to the website and ordered from there. I think it's www.bigsandy.com . I know Tyrvar went right to the source as I have his shield in my keeping and he told me how he got it. Edit... Got the website wrong. When I go to the shop one day this week I...

Years ago I recall a fellow I fought in a coronet tourney named Bjorn the Belligerent. At the lay this fellow of sizeable proportions (compared to my short arse) would let out a yell that started somewhere around his toenails and ended with a sword come at you at high velocity.. Was a pretty cool fi...

Tiki torches.. Height of torch plus one half away from tents etc. Firepits really don't have a restriction on Size They do however have a ruling that tents and flammables must be far enough away (15') or so I believe to curtail sparks combusting tents. This is all off the top of my head as the rules...

Ya pretty much answered your own question F.. Run your fencing practices same as you do heavy fighting.. Couple drills, reinforcing the basics and allow them to work freestyle a bit. All the while do your own research on what you can incorporate. These guys are new. As such they really don't KNOW wh...
