NO. It is for people that can. Period. I disagree, it's for people who Will. As has been pointed out we have folks from 18 to 80 blind, crippled, crazy. The thing about them is they Will do it. They get out there, fight and enjoy what it is we do. Those who won't for whatever reason will not try.

homerj109 As for the fighting -even though your not on the field, you can still learn by watching. I probably learn more from watching how the others fight, then I do by actually fighting. Watch how they move, how they throw a blow, how they block, etc. This can really help you later in life by all...

Clamshells.

Egg, Icefalcon (same gaunts), Draven at midrealm leather, Torvaldr, Bokalo, Quinn.. I know I'm missing some but these come off the top of my head. All of them would be under 200 some under 100 even.

On the arms and legs, too much fluting and the poleyns are too bulbous. Go to Stonekeep m and buy some of their spring steel knees and elbows, with a rondel or the soupcan style, then make your own vambraces, rerebraces, cuisses and shynbalds out of leather. If you make gamboised cuisses, you'll ha...

The guy in the white is a Midrealm transplant to the East. He showed up earlier this year at a smaller Unbelted practice. He has a decent offside and I assumed got "real lifed" out of the Society while he was still fresh and out in the Midrealm. I believe someone helped make him the armor...

Throughout the years, I've seen an odd mix of armor at the 30, from plastic gauntlets to plate and chain. Is plastic forbidden at the CoT, or just discouraged? Is the line drawn on appearance or the actual materials used to make one's armor? Maille and plate would be appropriate as this was part of...

Kettle helm would be quite period for this event. As has been noted in other threads. The kettle went from 13th century right up til the 15th. SO yeah a kettle would be appropriate. The one thing to remember about a kettle helm. In the 30, a face thrust or strike across the bargrill is fatal to you....

So I may have missed this, but if your kit is not decidedly English or French, how do you decide what team to "apply" for? Personal choice, whichever still needs the most, etc? Thinking if I really buckle down, I can get a kit fully complete, and up to standards by the time Pennsic '09 ge...
