I had one of these, gave it to my man at arms, he just returned it to me and I sold it for $50 to another guy. My lady made a leather drape to fit it (visor is permanently shut) and it has a deep russet patina, with brown leather drape it looks pretty damn good..

Well I did a cherburg 13 out of 13 oz leather. Then cut an aluminium strip to go over the center plate. Not sure if that's what you're looking for but it's a thought
