Yep, got me an Armi Sport 53 3 band. This is an older one (still has adjustable sight) but has the brass bands instead of the blued steel. Lots of brass hardware on it as well.

My first Kingdom Crusades I had three guys deliberately break my spear. One would pin the spear down while one of the others would Hammer it with their polearm. After about three of these pin and slaps my spear was broken..

That, Nissan, was an awesome event.
Indeed, never in my life did I enjoy such a thorough ass kickin' as was given at that event.

I'll get hold of him post haste then. I might be able to catch this helm before Pennsic. If he says "Yeah but it will be a bit. It won't be a problem for me as I'll have the other helm lying around...

Re: Looking for someone to take a commission job.
Jackie was my first option as well as he did several pieces for me before this (retro fit of a klapvisor to my helm, redid my finger gauntlets, reworked other stuff for my current helm). However I was informed Jackie's not taking commission for a spell for personal reasons and so I needed to cast my...

Looking for someone to take a commission job.
Here's the deal. After Pennsic I will be coming into a new to me stainless bascinet. What I need is someone who can blast the bar grill off and put a set of mounts on it so I can switch out the visor which also will need to be built to fit. (I have a klapvisor with mounts that MAAAYYY work. I will s...

Is this going to be Earl Marshall Specific? If not and Ice has some at Southern Region next weekend, I'll buy one for my alternate spear and hopefully see some use of it at the event.
I sent a missive to my Earl Marshal on this as well.

Matt, Here's my recommendation. DO you have any local Chiv that will endorse you becoming a Marshall? Get a boogie board. Cut out a head approximating a period pole weapon (I do a partisan head myself) Cut a groove in the back of the head to fit the rattan. Apply shoe goo to back of head and set in place. Apply strapping tape attaching the head to haft. Build thrusting tip Duct tape to outer surface...

Well since we're running down the derail line. Here's an idea.
Stop making Masters everywhere for rattan (leave it for fencing) and just have Knights and Knights Errant. Same honorific (Sir) same scroll same regalia...Just leave out the chain for those not in fealty to the crown..

Me either. If I lived in one of those kingdoms, I'd do my best to get knighted, then at the last second (mid ceremony) I'd put the belt up on my shoulder. Either it'd make the masterless kingdoms have a master, giving a precedent for future masters, or it'd make the king look like a giant douche fo...

Does the rumor say that they are going to make their own GoA order? Haven't heard any part two of the rumor such as G.O.A. etc. Just that the East is doing away with the White Scarf... AND since it's originating to me from Trimaris, I thought I'd ask for the skinny on it so I can either say "Y...

Re: "Cut and thrust" in armor at Pennsic?
Forgive the dumb question. I understand that pickup fights will count as rapier combat at Pennsic and therefore require authorization. That makes sense, as pickups are full speed and require full rapier armor and marshal inspection. However, do classes, slow work, training, and drills also require ...

Thorstenn, I worded that wrong. When I said "normal fighter", I was talking about the guys who dont travel and play in their own little pond. From my experience they take lighter, than what I expect folks to take, but they do make up the majority of the fighters in the SCA. But when I tra...

1) Improper body mechanics to deliver a shot
2) Improper Stance
3) covering their eyes with the shield when blocking and leaving it there
4) Not moving the shield enough to effectively block.
