You should have ton of Amish Tack/Harness shops down that way. Do what I do go in and get a strap cut to what you need. Cheap easy and you can inspect the leather before they cut it.

Just want to say. Purchased one of the woodgrain spear shaft and an Ice spear tip kit..
The shaft on these weighs 6oz more than the super lightweight red ones and are light years ahead on appearance.

Yeah a little jaded I would say. See I started out with "ban it entirely no matter what" and have now moved to "ok use it all you want just make the ammo safer." It has been a two year transition from "ban it entirely" to "use it all day long with safe ammo"....

Edit to add what I was responding to I don't care that the number is small. What I care about is that it will only take one to end a persons life and that can easily be avoided while still allowing CA to be in play. How is it not a design flaw that you can squish an anti penetration device (not a semi penetration device) by hand and force it through a grill? As you said, it had to be squished (physically compressed enough to get it out). It could not be removed simply by trying to force it out on it's own and ...

Out of curiosity, when was the last injury from an arrow bouncing sideways into the eye slots? And would it not be safer to require meshing inside of helms? That way the eyes are safe from splinters coming off a failing sword as well...I mean if safety is truelly the issue it only makes sense to go...

You're Young...You heal quicker than I do by a longshot.. Practice is the only way to prevent bruising (and perhaps some quick mods to your armour) but the bottom line is..Did you enjoy the actual combat enough to WANT to do it again?? If so then do not give up, rather pace yourself and do it right...
