I'd go with: Vert, a falcon rising to sinister Argent and eight honeybees in annulo Or.

Unless you want the honeybees to follow the outline of the shield, and the number doesn't much matter...it's kind of hard to tell if you meant them to be circling the falcon, or just on the field.

I don't carry it on the field as its blade isn't recessed as much as I would like to be safe. I was thinking of getting another style and once I do that can sit in my pouch along with the roll of tape and my CPR cheat sheet (I have to have one, they change so often). The ring-shaped ones are great,...

When we end up with something like this in the Outlands or at Estrella, we add that any injury done by a zombie which does not immediately kill you turns you in to a zombie, but you have 30-60 seconds before turning.

And it's up to you whether or not to tell anyone.

The bigger problem I see in the SCA is the nonsensical way we use titles; in period there wouldn't have been a "Duke William fitzJohn," there would only have been a "William fitzJohn, Duke of _________", and it would have been the "Duke of_________" that was unique, no...

Depending on how you're formatting it, I can throw it up on Outlands.org.

If you're just throwing it together in Excel, I can copy and paste straight to the web site from there and it'll keep most of the formatting.

SCA insurance won't cover you, true, but if you were running a literal "backyard" practice, your homeowner's insurance has a liability limit for this. So, on private property, you'd just have to take out liability insurance on that, if you don't already have it on the property. (Which depe...

Actually, I worded that really poorly. It was meant to be a bit of a joke at the idea of Cut and thrust being the "natural evolution" of rapier- when in period, it was the other way around- the thrusting styles came later than the more cutting styles. Just a weak attempt at humor that fai...

I can think of nothing in the Capo Ferro manual that I couldn't do under the regular rapier rules that isn't also against the Cut and thrust rules. Is Capo Ferro not "real" swordsmanship? C&T allows you to throw more accurate dritto and riverso cuts, as Capo Ferro describes at the end...

Suze you are missing the fact that our rattan swords are round not square. They do not strike with a flat 1 inch of surface area. The actual surface area that makes impact of a round stick against steel is nearly the same as that with a steel sword. The difference and safety factor is in the flex o...
