Here's what you're looking for: http://www.kostym.cz/Obrazky/1_Originaly/02_Renesancni/I_02_58.jpg Wish I had more information on the provenance of it, though. I thought Scott also had an English basket hilt that was heavy list legal, but I cannot find it on his site. Sad panda; if I ever get my Elizabethan rig finished around the Kelson peascod and Clang burgonet, I wanted one. I'll have to whine at him, or mug Saritor for his. He does...he has one of th...

Amusingly, having been a fencer in the Outlands for pretty much as long as eltweed, I've heard the other end of it...mostly rattan guys who, back in the day, used to comment that fencers were worthless, since a hit with a two-handed sword would snap the rapier and kill the fencer in one shot. Maybe ...

Why? because my command staff would just as happily be playing on the field as sitting in a staff meeting. By fighting and not going to the meeting I am in violation of my own principles of leadership by example. Right. So, we get them all in 14th century kit, haul them all to the field for the 30,...

I don't fundamentally disagree, but where is the same requirement for Knighthood with rattan? God knows I didn't fight in anything close to an authentic style - I might still be fighting if I had. Yes, much of rapier in the SCA is sword tag and I bitch about it all the time. But you know, much of rattan is sword tag as well, the tag is just harder. I think I know a bit about both games. I agree with you, but I want to be clear regarding my opinion and use of "sword tag" -- I'm not ...

Rowan, there is some level of resemblance to some of the XI/a and XII finds, which would be more consistent with the Crusades, though the XII is pushing it, since you're talking about Eighth and Ninth Crusade, by that point.

I guess you could make your own molds from theirs and cast them in pewter.
