I've also got a brand-new mild-steel Pembridge great helm from James River that'll fit a largish head for $150, and a used Icefalcon fixed-grill bascinet that's stainless that I'd let go for about $200, but it's only sized for a 23.5" noggin.

#Yes. Much better. But that is a separate program. Cordially, I disagree with you on this. It is not a separate program; it is placed directly under the aegis of rapier; and although it's (at times) not used in a conventional 'rapier' framework, it's still classified as rapier. Cut & thrust rul...

What bothers me most about this thread, is not that people say no to it. What bothers me is the "Oh just make them Laurels" It already sounds that people believe they don't deserve their own award, and by telling to lump them into Laurels makes it sound as though you feel the Laurel to be...

The 4th Peerage list is highly entertaining, but largely useless for discussion that doesn't amount to cheerleading for the 4th Peerage.

I'm planning on writing up my opinions in a form likely longer than anyone on the BoD will read, but I'll have at least attempted to get my opinion out there. :D

judging from many vids I've found on the web, people rarely even acknowledge the existence of arrows that hit them. But even if "nuclear" arrows are that much of a problem, just make them "weaker" rules-wise. No problem. You have a certain amount of safety constraints that peopl...

Re: Light infantry and "less-armoured" fighters

Would that be something that elicits as much opposition as CA seems to do on some corners? Look at the major complaints against combat archery -- solo sniper mentality combined with nuclear arrows. You might have some problems getting enough people together for it, but even forming archers in to bl...

Barbecue is a code word in the Outlands for bad guys in the backfield. Specifically, it's "There's someone in our back yard, and they're cookin'." Part of the reason for it is that we get *one* word to shout when we're dead. So, "Dead!" to let the wingmen know you're toasty, or ...

It's described as a CoP in John Hunt's work, which has several examples of this style in Ireland, including this same effigy.
