There's been plenty of times here where fighters spend SO much time having different people jump in and instruct over the top of the person instructing them that they never get to fight. Bloody annoying. I'm all for having a training session, but there needs to be a time at FP when it's JUST fightin...

I paid extra to get a basket hilt based on a mid-16th century model for a reason, being late period and all that.

The one I have doesn't have a base for the tire. I just set it on some relatively flat dirt and used an R15 tire (maybe 14). The concrete I used set up pretty quickly, was mixed fairly thick and I made sure to get some in the rim of the tire. It picked some random bits of dirt, but it's been fine. N...

Look for images of the carvings at the Cathedral at Bari. I've seen a few in David Nicholle's work. You're pretty much looking, as far as heavy kit goes, at the helm you already have, plus maille, or possibly scale/lamellar (hard to tell from the carvings). Pisa Cathedral might be a good source, but...

Yeah, 1 CD for the field, 1 for the removal of the wyvern/use of the sun/the position the sun is in, in the event that someone comes up with a way to conflict two-headed wyverns with suns in slendour. Possibly one for the r...

Now is a good time to get into process. We've had something like three letters of acceptance and return pumped out in the last 45 days. Depending on your timing, kingdom and the local herald you submit through, you'd be looking at 1-2 months to get from local to kingdom and out to Laurel, and an ind...

The entire Blake family name comes from the fact that a Welshman, Richard Caddell, was nicknamed "le Blaca" due to coloring/complexion. The name eventually evolved in to Blake. You also see Dubh in Gaelic as a descriptive byname, usually attached to hair color or complexion. (The meaning i...

There's really not a decent explanation of footwork from a period source in the time frame you're looking for. Are you planning to reach out to the heavy weapons community as well as the C&T folks? Are you going to try to have folks teach the WMA techniques straight (i.e., in and of themselves) or are you going to try to have some emphasis on ways and means to apply the techniques being taught for C&...

It's a little outdated in some areas.

I'd suggest Hjalmr for the helm. Inexpensive, excellent work. Send a pm to him here on the Archive.

For the rest? Stonekeep. (Though he also has some pretty inexpensive helms, and starter kits available.)

FS Stainless morion with perf face [PICS]

This morion was made by Maelgwyn McCain at Strawberry Fields Armory a couple of years ago for me, but I've never gotten around to either acquiring a hood, or making the leather drape for it that I'd need for C&T. (It'll also need a chin strap.) Measures ~8.75" across, ~10" front to bac...
