Anyone gotten a hold of one of the SCA heavy-legal burgonets Von Sussen's selling on eBay with the bar-grill?

EDIT: And, if so, what did you think of it?

Absolutely spot on. I need a different kind of job. I hate sitting at a desk 8-10 hours a day. Hate it. That's pretty much what I've been thinking lately. I need a job that gets me outdoors, even if the weather is crappy, and keeps me on my feet more often. Well, that or I need to contract with Ray...

Here's the excerpt from John Dee's diary on the sigillum, emphasis mine: This seal must not be loked on, without great reverenceand devotion. This seale is to be made of perfect wax. I mean, wax, which is clean purified: we have no respect of cullours. This seal must be 9 ynches in diameter: The rown...

Outlands has exactly 0 training standards. some people train on their own time in whatever they choose to train in, however they choose to do so. A few (like...2) train intermittently with Roger Siggs at RMSG. Very few have any kind of rigid or regimented training schedule, including the white scarv...

A reign in the Outlands used to cost somewhere on the order of $10K, but that was before gas prices doubled. I'm sure it's still somewhere in that range, at least. Probably far more if the Crown isn't from one of the two major geographic areas of the kingdom. (Those being Albuquerque/Santa Fe and De...

Late Renaissance "Purified" Wax?
Does anyone have any idea what "purified" wax would refer to, or "Church wax"? Would it just be beeswax, or is there some other arcane form of wax I should be looking for?

That does kind of make it difficult. If a peer can't go anywhere and be recognized as such, or *perform* as such, that limits their function, doesn't it? I don't think that Calontir is opposed to rapier, really. I think it's just the way its been presented, and the way the anti- and pro- crowds have...

C&T Tournaments
So, the Outlands has no actual tournament authorization for C&T. Really, what this means for us is that we're still essentially "experimental" phase in a lot of ways. I've been toying around with the idea of alternate "tournament" formats that aren't really tournaments, but m...
