Von Sussen Burgonet?

Anyone gotten a hold of one of the SCA heavy-legal burgonets Von Sussen's selling on eBay with the bar-grill?

http://sussen.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/product17.html

EDIT: And, if so, what did you think of it?

Absolutely spot on. I need a different kind of job. I hate sitting at a desk 8-10 hours a day. Hate it. That's pretty much what I've been thinking lately. I need a job that gets me outdoors, even if the weather is crappy, and keeps me on my feet more often. Well, that or I need to contract with Ray...

Just thought I'd chime in...the gorget was delivered quickly, and is exactly as pictured. :)

If the brig had been for someone a little taller, it, too, would have been mine. ;)

But I had no problems dealing with richcelt, and wouldn't have problems doing so in the future. :)

I'm finally on The List, but I find that Terry's products are pretty good overall. For regular fencing, if gives the correct profile of a head...which is all you should have anyway. Not many folks were wearing burgonets and morions on their night about town. For C&T, it's still situational, but....

Outlands has exactly 0 training standards. some people train on their own time in whatever they choose to train in, however they choose to do so. A few (like...2) train intermittently with Roger Siggs at RMSG. Very few have any kind of rigid or regimented training schedule, including the white scarv...

My general line of thought, in the absence of a ranking noble to judge anything, is having a panel of the C&T marshals do the judging, whether they'd fought or not. Whether this will work in the kingdom or not remains to be seen. There's still a lot of things I need to figure out about how to pu...

A reign in the Outlands used to cost somewhere on the order of $10K, but that was before gas prices doubled. I'm sure it's still somewhere in that range, at least. Probably far more if the Crown isn't from one of the two major geographic areas of the kingdom. (Those being Albuquerque/Santa Fe and De...

Now, you could do something that would be two boar's heads on a chief (a rectangle all the way across the shield) and the wings beneath.

Not only do you get your personal joke, but you improve it by having two boars and, thus, better suggesting when pigS fly. ;)

We do tournaments. Or rather, we allow C&T in tournaments if both fighters are authorized in it. There hasn't been a single death or crippling injury yet, somehow - it seems to work pretty well. I suspect I'd get in less trouble running down the freeway going the wrong direction while naked and...

That does kind of make it difficult. If a peer can't go anywhere and be recognized as such, or *perform* as such, that limits their function, doesn't it? C&T Tournaments

So, the Outlands has no actual tournament authorization for C&T. Really, what this means for us is that we're still essentially "experimental" phase in a lot of ways. I've been toying around with the idea of alternate "tournament" formats that aren't really tournaments, but m...
