I love registering simple heraldry for people. It makes life SO much easier. Easy to conflict check, easy to draw and sew...it's great! Sadly, most people seem to want uber-complex heraldry, or operate under the more modern assumption that all heraldry is complex and needs about a billion things. &q...

I started off aiming for a late 16th century (Nine Years War) Anglo-Irish portrayal, and have shifted to a more general 16th C English so as not to have to decide between Henrician and Elizabethan. :D

Irish, I get what you're saying, I just find it difficult to believe that the Spaniards were the ONLY people to have dedicated sheild/buckler equipped anti-pike shock units in continental warfare at that time.... Icefalcon says over in the "Armor stimulus sale" thread (http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/ ... p?t=106834) that he'll knock $8 off the cost of a fiberglass spear and thrusting tip combo purchase.

I do believe that puts him ahead of the game.

I have a 12.5' round from Midwest tent (the blue and yellow one on their web site, actually), and haven't really had any problems with it. It's held up pretty well in various kinds of wet and windy weather. I miss having a sod cloth, though.

So a 36"-38" blade on a single-handed hilt? given the theory for development of the hand and a half is dual use (mounted one-hand/dismounted two-hand), I wonder if they were only for mounted use, and a shorter weapon was carried for foot? Or a different balance, maybe, but would still be p...
