Hi, This is what I have learned from 4 reigns (1 in the Mists, 1 in West, and 2 in the East) 3) Never think it would be cool to be a unbelted king/prince, it really does suck. Ronald What are the problems an un-belted King would face that would make it suck, as opposed to being a belted King??

I have a 30 inch diameter 4 foot length of black walnut with no knots. There is no where near me that I can have this sawn into planks. So, I am considering splitting it into one 3 to 4 inch plank at the widest, and then having it planned. I would like to use the remaining wood to make legs for a v...

If it isn't the best picture I've seen yet of a costrel from the Mary rose, then it suggests strongly that the decorative form on the Mary Rose example(s?) wasn't unusual. From a heraldry site: A second way of displaying marital arms is to impale the two coats. Originally, impalement was accomplished by taking the dexter half of the husband's arms and combining them with the sinister half of the wife's arms on the same shield. This practice is known as dimidiation. A...

T BTW, as far as I know, there's no record of Teutonic Knights being involved in the Fourth Crusade. Doesn't mean there weren't any, but as it was mostly French and Italian-based, it seems a little unlikely. The main forces of the Fourth Crusade never made it to Outremer - they got diverted, and at...
