Both, if possible. Camera for actual images, ie for somethign that totally specific, but pencil for extrapolating info, like sketching shapes that the camera can't quite reach due to display limitations. Actual notes, text notes are vital, certainly for observations the camera can;t pic up or notice.

Yep to all of that Kel. The windows at Barely Hall, fenestrals were oiled I believe, not nit picking just that linseed oil is cheaper than wax, and easier to apply.
