Non-British Effigies 13th-15th Centuries

Any have websites for people who aren't interred in the British Isles? HRE, Spain, and Portugal (mostly HRE) would be especially helpful. The MCS site and Gothic Eye are somewhat lacking in content on those.

Brasses would be most excellent.

Would the guys wearing only the coifs on thier heads be lower class fellers? I'd assume so since they're using crossbows. Or would these guys be of some standing?

Here's the pic for reference:

Man, i wish my school woulda had a class like that.

That's some good stuff. Especially raising it and all.

As far as getting it all done in 4 weeks, remember....not everyone wore cap-a-pie. You could always go with less.

But if you can do a cap-a-pie in 4 weeks.... wow.

Anyone dealt with him previously have an experienced opinion on this?

Clean it up, seal it really well, and use it for a decorative nut bowl.

You may even be able to sell it for more than a great helm may fetch if you market it right.

It's not a disaster. It's a lesson. Learn from it, and advance.

Well, that would be a stiffening liner, most likely. Not really needing to stiffen the steel, I'd imagine. Is the liner just to keep the corset from biting you? Or does it need line it and be visible? Soft leathers will be comfortable. latigos will be more durable, but heavier. Buckskin won't last a...

I found thicker rivets help too. I can't say for steel or brass, but with copper, when I went to a 5/16" diameter life got much better. When your fixing 2 pieces of leather, like say a strap to an armour bend, the shank is pretty long just to reach thru. I found that thickening the rivet comens...

Definitely a good first try. And you even took on a hard design, instead of starting with something easy.

I think the improvement that will be most dramatic is deeper dishing. That'll give you a more correct looking front.

But it's a fine first shot, tho.
