Buff the crap out of it. Otherwise you're what all the excess leather is gonna rub off onto. Eventually, it will stop. I have the same problem, and not enough hours in the day to devote to buffing it out. So, I get to wear rubbed off dye for a while. About vinegaroon. I love the stuff, but my first ...

How thick is the leather? You could set a wooden spoon handle up in it, and then press down the leather where your knuckles will be over the spoon handle. You can use your fingers to make a dishing donut as you press. Or you could drill a hole in a 2x4 round the edges of the hole and then use the sp...

There's a fellow, I believe from Marinus, who sewed tubes into fabric cuisses and then popped sections of garden hose into the channels. He says it works great.

Do you use a drawstring or a belt-ish sorta arrangement to keep your braes up, James? I know with experience from my roundly gut, a drawstring is more comfortable for outer pants to me (no braes yet). As I wear at my hips (so they stay up), the drawstring doesn't fold over under my fat and start bit...

Those rings are from GDFB. If you order from them they are around 20 bucks (tho I can't say what shipping from the UK would be) for 3000 rings and rivets as opposed to 1000. Of course shipping over the Atlantic might make it cheaper to go with the place you've posted. You'd have to inquire with GDFB...

Well, there's likely only one way I'm gonna find out, and that's to get one and stick my melon it it. I got me a Plan A and 3 backups. So now, it's just waiting to see how things play out.

Thanks, everyone!

Your best bet is likely soundproofing. Put rubber pads under what you can, maybe use a layer of leather between the object you're hitting, and the form or stake you're hitting against. Use polymer auto body hammers. Maybe working hot, you could it it softer. It's a loud thing, metal on metal. Christ...

There is an exception to the floating rib placement: fat guts. If you place it where it historically should be, the rise in the gut will shove it up into your throat, whereas, if you make it reach lower to just beyond the widest point of your middle, you'll get great mobility. It allows a longer-tha...

I don't think they're saying you should act badly to the cops, especially since they seem to be siding with you. I think they mean let the cops come, offer them some lemonade, and swap stories about how big of a nuisance the old lady is. Ignore *her*. I'd also soundproof that garage a bit. Accoustic...
