Yeah, at that temp, you're causing the water to boil. Definitely not what you want to happen. well, that might explain it. I had to set the old oven to 250, and have been trying from there! I am retarded. You don't want it really above 190, and not below 160. Like Dan said, 180 is spot on. Yeah, the...

It wasn't a Wisby. I should have used a Wisby 7. Only 2 horizontal plates on that. This is a later style, with a bunch or horizontal plates, and vertical plates around the sides. It's the kind that Mad Matt was making. I got no complaints with what I got. The plates were shaped and drilled. The fail...

Thanks for the replies everyone! Initially I was going to make leather loaner. It's my medium, I have a good idea of what I'm doing, and I've made some fairly spiff stuff. The idea for the armour being ugly was mostly to make sure it didn't walk away. Kerry; I tried making a CoP. That's the part tha...

Practical Question for Loaner Armour
Hey, everyone. Been a looong time. It's good to be back. I was making loaner armour for my Shire. First try beat me. Badly. Now I'm going back with my original, looks-like-hell, a-historical, no-one-on-earth would want to steal it leather design. It's the design I was going to do before I was seduce...

Thanks for the links guys. Feel kinda foolish for not immediately thinking of a couple of them. I went with the second one you posted, Wade. That, and a kinda 6-pointed flower one on a pair of tassets. Used the spades with the tails too. Unfotunately, I think my innate lack of artistic compositional...

Yeah, good point. Shoulda put that in there. Something that would be applicible to armour embellishment. Or at least something that wouldn't look stupid going on to a piece. I know I've seen some stuff looking about that would be way wrong on armour, but looks grat on a manuscript border. Thanks, Ch...

It's not really preforated, but it's sort of an in-between for perf and bargrills. I think.

16th Century Floral Designs
Anyone know of an image library of these things? Central and Western European stuff is preferred. I'm getting a wierd mix of stuff on google, with a lot of arabesque looking stuff.
Thanks,
Christopher

I thought it was kwoy-rahs. I guess it stuck that way cause it was the first time I'd ever heard it spoken. First impressions and all that. Sir-vell-ee-air-uh? Ok. That's really awkward for me mentally as an English speaker (anyone else think so?). So does this mean Sir-vell-ee-air / Sir-vell-yair i...
