anyone ever try to use a pottery kiln for heat treating metal etc. Problems? There are a few large Paragon kilns for sale cheap and I thought if I could install a timer and better temp. control then maybe? any ideas?

both pairs are VERY nice
you could try to make the metacarple plate extend down around the base of the thumb to help prevent hyperextending the thumb

all leather, with a little slack in the diam of the finger tubes that will disapear once you sew the fingers on with some padding between. Other than that IMO fit is more important than type of leather or brand, get what fits your hand the best. Just a side note, every pair of gloves that I've used...

these were developed for drills and practice. they offer enough protection for "controlled" drills and save your gauntlets from everyday wear.
I've made and sold these for a few years and have no reported injuries
