One other thing you might want to change is to change the state maps. Instead of different counties (of which Ga has 8mil), if you could find maps with Interstates, it might help people find their way around. Found this website on the National Highway System, with state maps, and major cities marked...

Why remove them after 6 months? Most practices stay pretty regular for longer than that. Our shire has had practice at the same park for a couple of years at least, and South-Downs has had theirs at the same place for 10+years. I would suggest a label (something along the lines of Possibly Out Of Da...

Yes, you can. Check the rules for your area on what makes them legal. Compression is an iffy thing. Pretty much feels squishy. I would head to a fighter practice, and feel some. Your thumb should sink some, but not bottom out onto the rattan, and you shouldnt be able to fold it over, and hit rattan ...

So just put the marshalls in heavy-legal gear, and tie big pink bows to them . Everyone knows they are marshalls, if they take an arrow, sorry. I think the biggest problem you might have is making sure that you get enough archers there. If not, the event will be changed drastically, and I am not sur...

Maybe we are on the same lane, Your Grace, and just dont know it. I personally think that even if we are wearing norman helms (what you call caps), thrusts to the sides and back and top of the helm should be legal. The same force as a good solid thrust to the rest of the body. Even though I am from ...

Sorry, the one I saw on Beathans site had spectacles. I thought that was what you were asking about (skimmed the post). I agree with the flap, and dont know of any that have it directly attached (pre 14th century) without having spectacles. All of them were part of a coif underneath, except possibly...

Sorry about the delay getting back (and the slight derail). SNIP I dont have an option if he expects me to take it. SNIP. As I understand the SCA ruleset, your opponent cannot EXPECT you to take anything, nor can a marshall or anyone else. Only the fighter receiving a shot is permitted judge whether...

And they (Normans) are called helms. Spangen- Helm ? Just because something is called a helm doesnt mean that it covers the whole head. All of the LH sites I have looked at call them helms, even though they dont go past the brow. It is turning into somewhat of a semantic arguement, but helms do not ...

then it needs to be changed to say a cap not a helm (or evena helmet). then, once that happens, we need to adjust the amount of force required to best a helm above the brow since the area below the brow is no longer protected against crushing blows. obviously we will need to hit that are much light...

In atlantia, and others, turning your head to save yourself from a face thrust is a viable, realistic, and accepted way of avoiding a defeat by using the armour to do its intended job. Ignore if Atlantia takes normal power thrusts to the head as good I dont know the exact rules in Atlantia, but if ...
