Take a look at some of these polearms and such. Then imagine a 300+ lb dude taking a golf swing at your lower leg, while you are running full speed at them. The reason why the Tuchux and others can allow them is because they are A) a smaller group with much more peer pressure being able to be brough...

My favorite basket I actually got from a friend of mine, who made it for himself. Thing is exceedingly small, but also low-profile in a visual sense. Mild steel welded down the center and then has bars welded into the edges so they don't curl. The only problem I am now having is I am looking for a s...

Personally, the few sets I have made have all been custom sized. They were for people who lived fairly close to me. Everything down to a XS up to XL. I mark the patterns based on a brand and size of glove that the person can fit into. Aka. I have a Tillman TIG L, and a gardening glove XS, etc. I fin...

All I wear is a thick kidney belt with a thick gambeson overtop. I don't even have the maille to help, and it still works out fine for me. I would suggest something to help with your thighs (I currently wear crashpads). I have also seen people make a very tight fitting lamellar harness to go underne...

Are we sure that is maille? I am asking, because my first instinct was to think of it as some kind of scale or perhaps a decorative design on greaves (leather perhaps). What is the picture from, and does anything else have the cross-hatching on it which may be more definatively maille? Edit: After l...

Re: early period garb
Not all of it costs what it says on the website. Those are just approximates based on what approximate times are. Besides to get this thing off of the ground I am giving killer deals to the first 20 who inquire about them. Not only that, but most of those prices are for moderate to heavy embroidery...

Airsoft Beretta for Sale
Have an Airsoft Beretta copy up for sale. Works fine, spring loaded. only issue with it is the slide lock has a small groove so doesn't fit. Comes with a clip, and probably 100-150 pellets. This is the standard gun-metal gray with black grip. Only thing that doesn't look real is the day-glo orange t...

Question for you, and I'm asking out of ignorance and curiosity- are the flat top helms really that much easier to make than a spangen? It seems like evening out the panels for a four-panel spangenhelm wouldn't be as hard as rolling the edge of a plate to 90 deg. to allow attachment to a vertical s...

Actually I believe the simple flat caps are seen among rank and file. But even if I am wrong about it artistically, consider then that artistically the wealthy are among those most likely to be depicted (wearing something novel). The focus of a lot of art tends to be around knights anyway....not ne...

Ive often found it interesting that the flat crusader cap helmet becomes so widespread after the opening of the 12th century. The best argument for its introduction is that massive reply to the call of crusade necessitated a simple helmet in lieu of the more complex (and arguably better glancing) c...

Not yet. I found someone in my barony who has offered the use of their equipment and jig, so I can try out one before taking the plunge. This also has the benefit of an experienced eye keeping track so I don't screw things up. Will definately post on how that went, and show off some of the pictures....
