So this means no more marshalls in helms, unless they have safely glasses underneath?

Kind of. The last shot made the tip look like O instead of like [] . Get my drift? Still trying to figure out a way to make them look correct without having the stair-stepping effect. The only way I thought of was to build the entire slope out of foam in order to have enough progressive give at the ...

Not really. Looks like the inside of a pair of slippers. Is there a particular reason you are asking? I just used spray adhesive, and cut the pieces to fit. Depending on the overall fit, Ikea sheepskin. The stuff made my current helm absolutely bombproof. To the point where I could hand my wife an 18" fishbat that is about 2.5" of solid rattan, and she hit me *as hard as she could* (by the end of ramping up). The stuff doesn't get nasty and sw...

I have my helm padded in Ikea sheepskin, and it is hands down the best thing I have ever used. I figure it is kind of like a wool liner, just without the sewing and padding and shearing, etc. Probably not as historical, as the stuff I have has an artificial backing, and for a natural batting, you wo...

When I had some tank legs, there was a major problem right on the outside edge. The space there was allowing the leg to move, without me feeling it at all. Try and generally reshape the uppers (16ga should move by hand with enough force) into a correct curve.

The other question I think most people on here are overlooking is how few people actually wear hauberks with full sleeves. I have a piece of 2 3/8" rattan I am debating on turning into one. Just for the sheer coolness value of it. Remember, the handle can be under 1.25", as long as you can't fit it through a grill (aka make the pommel 1.25" and don't curve the back any).

Tried that with a brand new wheel, and the rouge was clean (sometimes it can get a bit gray..?). Nothing happened that I could tell (as in no rouge disappeared). Getting Rouge onto a Buffing Wheel

So, I have run into a problem. I have a buffing wheel, and I have white Jeweler's Rouge that I use to strop the leather tools I have, but for some reason they don't want to mix. Maille drape. Takes the impact, and the maille rattles, instead of the helm. 'Cept there are a lot of tiny things vibrating, instead of one big one.

May also help to put what kind of helm you have, and who made it.

Second Windrose for a high-level helm. If your budget can't quite reach that high, James River has a pretty good looking, more entry-level priced one. The important part is getting the drape attached just at the bottom of the nasal in front, and having one which is built to accomodate that much vert...
