Not sure there is a whole lot there. Islam started cropping up in the 6-7th century, IIRC. So between the "fall" of Western Rome, and the start of Islam is something like a 300yr margin? I would guess that it wouldn't change that much, but most of what I am recalling is post-Islamic concep...

Go with what seems best to you for safety (within the rules), but do try to [b[cover it up[/b] so it doesn't look like Mad max in King Arthur's Court. QFT. Though for most SCA people, it isnt as much of a concern, as the shoes matter far less when you see Al exposed shields and visible plastic. Jus...

I guess there's always the hardcore reenactor option of sleeping under nothing more than a cloak or a piece of canvas. Black leather lace. Serves the non-descript, and isn't blatantly modern (aka. they at least had leather back then). If desired, do a simple fingerbraid or lucet cord.

So what you (Jperfetto) are asking is for whonew to credit the Wisby book? The simple fact that he is combining different types of plates seems to suggest that he has done some research into the area, and the fact that they look "similar" is simply based on them both looking close, because...

Tailor the pants a bit. I also do the Crusader Era, but there is no need to have "uber-poofy" pants. Pants that are big enough to allow your knees to fit inside are good enough. I would also see about tailoring the maille. It looks like it is way too short for you (split starting under you...
