The basket was made by Sir Bryan McBrand of Darkheart Armory. He actually has a new style that is not welded bars, but plasma cut metal that is then dished. They are pretty sweet.

Thanks Vig. I don't think the mail under the nasal stresses it much at all. Especially if you don't let people smack you in the nose a lot.

Adam, I put the leather there to try and simulate the leather lining of a ventail. Plus it hided the attachment point of the aventail to the bar.

Soak it in a bucket with Oxyclean. That stuff works great.
Try having it dry cleaned maybe. Between the chemicals & the steam it should help some.

A guy I know uses motorbike/motocross chain oil. He said it has a wax product in it that coats the metal. He loves it.

I forgot to add that I drilled a hole on the outside edges of each knee cop and tied them (looped actually) around the hinge in the brace to keep them from moving much.
