This was my first attempt at putting knee cops on a set of hinged knee braces. These are 5 piece stainless knees from Stonekeep. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o140/monkeybite/100_2086.jpg All I really did was point the 4 corner holes of the knees to the plastic velcro loops on the braces. Before I buy the zoombang pads to put in my chausses, does anyone have experience with how they absorb shots and affect callibration?

If they absorb so well that I won't feel shots, I'd rather not get them. They will be worn under a welded hauberk, so it will be the only padding.

The Zoombang stuff looks interesting. I like that they sell individual pads. I may try and make some pockets on my fighting chausses for them and see how that works.

FS - SCA combat seax sheath

This sheath is made from 3-4 oz veg tanned leather & sewn with waxed sinew. Approximately 14.5 inches long and will hold approx 13 inches of rattan. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o140/monkeybite/100_4395.jpg Sorry for the poor picture quality. Some simple tooling done. http://i119.photobuck...

Definitely interested if it has a trigger.

Unless I have only seen getelds that are not getelds.

Lucas, look at the pic I have of the leather flap that gets sewn to the back of the shoe. You basically need it to be as wide as the shoe is tall. While my pattern works well with shoes, D Sebastian's pattern looks like it may be easier for a higher boot. I will try to get a pic of some combat boots...

I would agree with all of the above. Good people. If you are asking also if lamellar is a good starting out body protection, the answer is yes. Easy for a newer person to put together and gives good protection as you learn to block. Well fitted body armor is your friend. Assuming you are referring t...

The best pell I have used is 3 pieces of dock rope (the 3-4" thick stuff) about 4-5 feet long. I just duct taped them together and put a chain at the top to hang it. The rope gives some and feel like hitting a person. There is no bounce back and it doesn't tear up the rattan. Not very hard to m...

new scabbard in progress

Ok, I have finally started to make a new scabbard for my live steel sword. This is a wood core (I used poplar) that I routed the blade shape out of each piece then glued them together. I used my belt sander to shape it. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o140/monkeybite/100_4276.jpg Not the best pic...

Donngal, outstanding job. I am glad to see that you darkened the bars as well. Not many armorers do that. You can see in the pictures that Sir Nikolas posted that the bars disappear from a few feet away.

Again, great job.

Well before you do a price you need to tell us what they are made of. Unless you have and I missed it, last I saw material was a 'trade secret'. If it is leather covered plastic, I personally would not pay as much as something in a metal.

They do look nice, as your work always does.
