I had the no padding under my lamellar issue once with a marshal. Anyone who does not think that lamellar is not the equivalent of 1/4 of foam and a a piece of leather should not be a marshal. Lamellar has some of the best force dispersion on the field. I have had pole weapons fail because the base ...

Wearing mail does give some protection true. I will definitely agree with Frieman about the armpits. If you are wearing a knee length hauberk the skirt will take a little from legs shots, especially if you are moving. It also gives a bit of glance factor with some shots. The poster asked specificall...

I love my mail and I look dead sexy in it. 8) But if you are asking about SCA protection, I will side with Duke Phelan. It doesn't do shit against rattan.

But I am down with looking sharp and blocking with my shield.

You can always add the wrap plate to the legs you currently have. Simple to do, especially if you make it out of leather.

Who would want a child a father does not cherish?

removing a mirror finish

I want to remove the mirror finish on my helm and was wondering the quickest/easiest method. I was thinking of just hitting it with a scotch brite pad, but wanted advice before I start.

Thanks

If this guy died in a melee and fell down dead on someone, who covers that shit? I sure as hell don't want to be like Stewy stuck in one of Chris' fat rolls.

If he wants to risk his life that is one thing, but the lives of us smaller guys is another.

No armour for you!

Drogo, I use finger gauntlets with thin deer shin on them dyed to look like gloves.

So if you don't want mail mittens, stealth gauntlets are an option.

D, the rope and rawhide will be enough for a buckler.

The shield is heavier and absorbs more impact without moving as much. The buckler (being smaller & lighter) will move more when hit so the abuse is less.
