Re: Agincourt 2015 Agincourt SCA Event- IN planning stage

So I have been pondering the field Scenario- The basics- Comments/Critiques Welcome Will try to have the French forces outnumber the English at least 2 to 1 if not 3 to 1 for heavy combatants. English will have Combat Archery contingent (optimal) equaling 1/3 of English force. (Historically the Arch...

Re: Fun with paint.

I free handed a stencil on paper and then cut it out and traced an outline on the stag, stars and the red part if the trillium. I free handed the leaves, and free hand painted everything.
What I would reall like to do is more detail on the stags head. But I am afraid to mess it up lol

I apologize for the delay.
I can't for the life of me find the Mailing Address that was sent to me in a pm.
To whom can I send these?

Good Master Woodwose is one to listen to about fitting lots of gear in a small place.

How big is that tent you had at GNE Matt?
Had all of his stuff, his armor, his wife, AND a St. Bernard.

Re: Agincourt 2015 Agincourt SCA Event- IN planning stage

Thanks Guys! Wcanne I will look into the AE event. See if they have any pointers, or if they would like to combine recources. Whil eit may cut down on numbers, I am wondering how hard it woudl be to have a little strichter rules for this. Run it more like a giant Deed instead of a regular SCA Field ...

if you are going to wear them under, then I wouldn't worry about a rebrace.
I tend not to wear a rebrace either, but the tops of my arms are hidden by a mail shirt.
I/m actualyl trying to sell my arms for a better pair at the moment.

Re: Critique My SCA Kit

It's a great kit David. I would only add to the shoes and hilt (though I see in one pic you do have a cross hilt.) - Is you are already wearing a full arm length jupon over your breasplate, put the arms under it too. The miniatures we see of that time period tend not to have arm armor over that type...

Re: SCA Marshal Updates

I have no comment nor opinion about the elbow/appearance rules, but I do want to say that 14th century effigies do not depict "parade armour". I never seen any 14th century art showing asymmetrical arm harness, shield or no shield. There are miniatures showing elbow defenses used behind shields in ...

SOLD. Nothing to see here. Move along.

I am LOATHE to sell these as Jeff is my favorite armorer of all time, but these have always been just a tad short on my arms, and I need to sell them so I can get a new pair! Mild steel-16gauge arm, 14 g elbow. Elbows have simple rondel on them. They are attached to the vambraces by leather articula...

So here it is, my first foray with painting on fabric. I think it came out better than it should have, but not as nice as I imagined lol. Have a great time Hugh!

I cannot afford to go to France. Not with a baby due. I think the little guy will take up a lot of my time and money.
That's why I thought to create an SCA event around it. For those of use who would love to, but just can't go to France.

Re: Agincourt 2015 Agincourt SCA Event- IN planning stage

It would be held somewhere in Maine I suspect, since that is where I am located. I might be able to get help and have it done down in Southern Maine, or NH. While *I* would like to see as many 1390-1430 style armor (or as close as can get) as I could, I understand that there would be a HUGE stink ab...

UPDATE! 2015 Agincourt SCA Event-Combat Rules

Once more unto the breach dear friends! The 600th Anniversary of Agincourt is October 25th 2015. I have gotten it into my mind to try and plan an SCA event to honor it. So far I have some basic ideas, one of my local guys thought it might be interesting to have a couple of battle scenarios based aro...

I think, that when one is trying to portray an era where there is a specific and recognizable profile to the armor, that it is a valid question. :P
