gauges.... umm light?
I think they are like 18 or 20.

I wear a 7 1/4 hat, and I had egg crate foam in them and they fit me fine.

Klaus if your serious you can send me a PM

If you want to wear a bear pelt on your head, and be historically accurate, go for a Roman Standard Bearer

Heh, sorry

The thing that always confused me with the LOTR Movie armor is the lack of rivets. All you see in close ups is stitching.

So it always made me wonder if it was infact metal covered with leather.

in reality it probably wasnt.

The breast plate was made by GK Armory

I was thinking of adding slats...perhaps, just painting them black, or red to metch my gambeson.

I have the same fabric left over from my gambeson, maybee I can make something up to look like a padded hood.hmmm but Ive hijacked.
Sorry!

well one of the reasons I was asking is actually because of a crest I saw on another thread. It had a leather drape that hung off the back of it. I need to put some extra protection on my helm, I was told a maille drape would suffice, and I was wondering if I coudl try to hide it under the leather d...

Patrick,

Do you attach the brass to the helm before you start the engraving? Or do you engrave then attach?

I actualy dont mind MRL as much as others...weapons wise. There clothing is awful and hideous. I have one of thier original production claymores...it is a tank, I payed $40 for it second hand. Its not 100% accurate, but it looks damn cool. Most of thier weapons are just that, not great to fight with...

While I would really like to get these, it will be at least 2 weeks before I can be able to pay for them. So Lodinn, if you can buy them now, they are yours and I will wait 6 months and pay the .55 per scale for them.

But at least I know wher4e to get them from now!
