Yes I believe you do, You can do two things I think.

1: attach verticle slats, and paint them black or the collor of your arming umm..hood? so they wont be as noticeable

2: attach a plate to the back that covers to the base (or close) of your neck

I had an idea to have a Cross with a setting sun behind it, and I thought it looked pretty snazzy, my girlfriend thought that it looked like the cross was burning, and didnt think that it would be very acceptable.

Ive been told that one of my major problems is that i tend to call shots that are far to light. They say its just inexperience on my part.
